- 'Art is an emotional passionate way of life' -
I have been busy with pencil and paper since my childhood
years. Drawing cartoons, copying patiently every comic of
'Storm' ( for example ), making my own ones ... any free
time went into being 'artistic'.
During my teenage years I discovered the 'computer' and
I stopped almost completely with drawing - I got fascinated
by those 'bits and bytes' which resulted in a degree in
computer science and lots of hours working with graphical
software ( designing games for example ).
Since I was a teenage kid I had been dreaming about going
to the 'academy' and to become a 'real artist' but life
directed it otherwise ...
My 'career' as an IT consultant went very well but it meant
that I didn't had any time nor interest to follow 'artistic'
courses ...
The 'artistic feeling' and 'urge to paint' never went quite
away and so I made the decision to start an evening course
at the 'Royal Academy of Art' in Antwerp (Belgium) which
would give me a master degree in 'Painting'.
From the moment I entered the classroom and smelled the
paint I knew this was what I always wanted to do ...
After 4 years of courses at the Academy I graduated in
2002 ... a fine conclusion of an experience that changed
my life dramatically ... going to the Academy and meeting
all those different kind of people (and minds) changed my
vision of life ... in a positive way!
Since 2003 I bundled my IT experience in my own little
company called "Sedacrivity", offering IT consultancy
to large organizations ... Being independent gives me more
freedom to be busy with art whenever I want ... or at least
that was the idea :p
Since 2007 I have been mainly experimenting with digital
art ... somehow this medium seems to be an ideal combination
of my computer & artistic capabilities. It sure ain't
easy and it is a strugle on trying to achieve 'traditional'
results in a ditigal way ...
I am still very busy with my consultancy firm but I try
to find some time to be 'artistic' ... either traditional
or digital ...
